Peter Michael of 33 Sugarmaple Road, Eskasoni, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Eskasoni, he was the son of the late Andrew and Annie (Michael) Paul.

He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni, Peter worked for a number of years at the Trading Post in Eskasoni. Peter was a plumber and mechanic over the years as well, and never failed to help others by lending a helping hand.

Peter is survived by daughters Scentiamaria and Scentina, both of Eskasoni; sons, Wilfred (Beverly), Bart (Alexandrine), Serge (Carrie), Clyde, Douglas (Serena), all of Eskasoni; sisters Mary Ann (Stephen) Martin, Mary Pauline (Peter) Poulette, both of Whycocomagh; brothers Joe Mike (Grace), Andrew, Douglas, all of Whycocomagh, Michael A. Paul, Ernest Johnson (Mildred), both of Eskasoni; Cameron Paul, Membertou; 25 grandchildren, by special niece Viney and best friend June Joe and by many great grandchildren, by numerous nieces and nephews and by several godchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rita Cremo in 2002 and his son Emerson, brothers Michael John Paul, James Paul, Andrew Paul, Colin Paul and Greg Johnson; sisters Annie Catherine ‘Katie’ Googoo, Mary Rose Cabot, Mary Louise Simon, Mary Agnes Marshall, Mary Ellen Paul and Dorothy Marshall.

Visitation for the late Mr. Michael will be after 7 pm on Tuesday at the Gabriel Centre, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Eskasoni.
