We, the family of Robert 'Junior' Cyril Eisan, 87, of Sydney are saddened to announce his passing on January 5, 2020 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Halifax on January 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Robert and Catherine (Fiander) Eisan. Junior was a member of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish and worked for many years as a stationery engineer at the City Hospital and later at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital until his retirement. He was a member of the Militia for many years in the Medical Corps and retired as Regimental Sergeant Major.During his time in the Militia he was appointed to the Order of Military Merit and the Order of St. John and received the Canadian Forces Decoration. After his retirement he volunteered his time with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and spent many years as a member of Branch 12 Legion and the Cape Breton Naval Veterans Association. Junior was also a member of the Memory Lane Singers and Legion Singers for many years. He enjoyed spending his time at the bungalow in Gabarus and out in his boat with his family. Junior was known in his day to tear up the dance floor and spent many hours entertaining his family and friends playing tunes on the guitar and accordion. His grandchildren and great grandchildren always brought a smile to his face and they will cherish their memories spent with Papa forever. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary (MacIntyre) Eisan, his children, Robert (Margie), John (Karen), Willie (Leah), Agnes (Kevin) Johnston, Mark (Debbie); grandchildren, Rob, Daniel, Ambyr, John, Kaitlyn, Ashley and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Bailey, Lennox, Laynie, Harper, Thomas, Gavin, Ryleigh, Parker, and Lenna; brother, Donnie (Ida) Eisan; sisters-in-law, Charlotte MacIntyre and Theresa (Jerry) Miller, Lynn MacIntyre, and brother-in-law, James MacIntyre. He was predeceased by sister, Roberta (Art) Flannigan; great-granddaughter Cassidy, brothers-in-law; Dan A., Willie, John Norman, and sisters-in-law Emma and Betty MacIntyre.Funeral Services under the care of T. W. Curry Parkview Chapel with Visitation on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9, A Funeral Mass will be celebrated January 10 at 11:00 a.m. St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, 40 Cabot Street, Sydney, with Father Bill Burke presiding.
