“I am Mi’kmaq from the People of the Dawn in Unama’ki. I have walked this Earth for a short time, but I have been fortunate to travel and learned that love is most important in life. I met Roy many years ago at John and Mully Sylliboy's home during a regular visit for Jeannie and myself. Over the years he shared some of his experiences like the training and testing (for months without pay) to get the position at Casino Cape Breton. Later, when they were downsizing at the Casino, they tried to lay him off, he fought it and won. I was so proud of him to take this on and fight for the job as he was normally a quiet, non aggressive and peaceful man. He handled it well and was thankful for the support and help from his wife Angela. Roy was traveling in the US when he met Angela and considered himself fortunate and very happy to share holidays and travel with her in Europe and Scandinavian countries. I still hear your voice – very unique and kind. God bless you Roy and our condolences to Angela and the rest of your family.
