It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Ryan Dennis Googoo on Friday, July 24 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Ryan was born on Nov. 20, 1962 to the late Roddie and Matilda Googoo. He grew up in a large family and this is where he developed his strong sense of community and always looking out for each other. He had a big heart and if any ever needed anything he would be one of the first to jump in to lend a hand. He was a true jack of all trades. Over the years he was involved in many fundraisers. He volunteered with the Eskasoni Volunteer Firefighters. He helped out with burials in the cemetery or anytime someone needed a hand. He also loved fishing, cards and bingo and was a devoted Habs fan.
Ryan is survived by his wife Hazel, children Jeffrey (Ralcie), Jessica (Chuck), Ryan (Kanisha), Gina, Santa “lala” (Jeremy), Mary C. (Austin), Lila (James), grandchildren; Andy, Andielee, Ekkian, Jeremy, Orion and Dallas, siblings Roderick (Christine), Barbara (David), Laura Mae, Florence (Clarence), Anita, Doreen, Linda Marie (Hazel), Francis Joseph (Dorothy), Karen, Trudy and Stephen (April), best friends Barry Bernard, George T. and Frank Dennis, his honorary mother Viney Sappier, brothers-in-law Frances and Anthony as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
