We mourn the loss and celebrate the life of Wanda Victoria Coady of Loch Katrine, Antigonish County and Sydney River. Born in Wallace, Cumberland County on October 9th, 1919, Wanda grew up in Glace Bay, the daughter of Anthony and Francesca Kubik. She married Dave Coady of Margaree Forks in 1948 and they raised their family in Sydney River. Together they were involved in the KOC, Spanish River Seniors Club and Meals on Wheels. They treasured their summers entertaining at the Coady homestead in Margaree Forks. Wanda enjoyed bowling and crafts and was a volunteer canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart & Stroke for many years. A long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, she was a life member of the CWL. Wanda provided a warm and loving home for family and friends. A kind and gentle soul, she led by example. She is survived by children, Colleen (Lenny Mason), Lorraine, Tony (Susan) and Paul (Rea), grandchildren Alana, Laura, Suzanne, David, Charlie and Christopher and great grandchildren, Alex, Shea, Myles, Jake, and Carly Layne, sister Roberta Burke Howarth, sister-in-law Anna Kubik and honorary #3 son, Brady Hawley. Predeceased by husband, Dave in 2005, infant daughter Helen, sister Anita Hawley and brothers Edmund and Alfie Kubik. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
