Bessie Mae Brown

Bessie Mae "Becky" Brown , age 91, of Locust Fork, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Coosa Valley Nursing Home. Becky was born January 7, 1934 in Tift, Georgia to Ira Presley, and Fannie McArthur Hendrix.

Becky was married to Marvin D. Brown for 55 years until he passed in 2005.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Sandra Blackwood of Locust Fork, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lorena Brown of Lake City, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa L. and Chuck Silva of Kennesaw, Georgia; grandchildren, Virginia and Brandon Rowland of Georgia, Stephanie and Austin Guarino of Kentucky, Robert and Tammy Brown of Missouri, and Ashley and David Sellers of Springville, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Flora Gunter, Iris Adams, Delora Smith, Betty Clack, Evelyn Coker, Edna Holbrook, Ella Coleman; and brothers, Ira Presley Hendrix Jr., Max Hendrix, and Ronald (Ronnie) Hendrix.

A graveside service was held, Friday, December 12, 2025 at Lake Forest Memorial Park at 280 Camp Road; Jasper, Georgia.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dementia Society of America.
