

Harpersville, AL - Funeral service for Billy Jack Landers, 87, will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Radney-Smith Chapel with Dr. Darryl Wood, Rev. Steven Huntley, and Rev. Skip Parvin officiating. Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery in Talladega Springs, AL.
Mr. Landers passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, the first love of his life, Mary Frances Edwards Landers; sister, Mable Skelton; brothers, Grady Landers, Charles Landers, and Wesley Landers; father and mother, James and Robbie Landers; daughter-in-law, Jill Landers; and step-son, Bret D. Hanner. Mr. Landers was a member of The First Baptist Church of Childersburg and had retired from Kimberly-Clark with 35 years of service. He was known for his love for his K-9 companion Cleo and all types of sports, with his favorite being golf. Mr. Landers was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His great humor and ability to make everyone laugh will be truly missed by all.
He is survived by wife, Glenda Jo Landers of Harpersville, AL; daughter, Deborah Garrett of Sylacauga, AL; four sons, Willie Landers wife Kathy of Childersburg, AL, Glenn Landers wife Dean of Talladega Springs, AL, Phillip Landers wife Celia of Talladega, Springs, AL, and Roger Landers of Fayetteville, AL; step-daughter, LaLinda Mehaffey of Harpersville, AL; step-son, Bart Hanner wife Ashely of Alpine, AL; step-daughter, Donna Veitch husband Paul of Harpersville, AL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family asks that donations be made to The First Baptist Church of Childersburg or the Church Daycare Fund.
Pallbearers will be David Landers, Jim Landers, Damien Landers, Cory Landers, B.J. Landers, Myles Landers, Adam O'Neal, and Dustin Landers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Lucy, Roger Blair, Howard Crow, John Thomas, Doug Alexander, Jimmy Landers, Tim Butler, Jacob Veitch, Lee Hurley, and Bart Hanner.
