It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Byron E. Kilpatrick, who passed peacefully on January 8, 2026, surrounded by family, resting in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Born in Wisner, Louisiana, Byron was a resident of Watson, Louisiana, and a man who walked humbly with God, leading his family by example with gentle strength, steady guidance, and unwavering love.
A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, Byron shared 43 years of life with his beloved wife, Laurie Landess Kilpatrick, built on devotion, respect, and a love that only grew stronger with time. His humor, quick wit, and playful teasing brought joy to all who knew him.
Byron is survived by his children, Brandon Kilpatrick and Mallory Kilpatrick Bonck, and their spouses, Corie Kilpatrick and Norman Bonck. He was a proud and loving grandfather (“Pop Pop”) to Karmyn Kilpatrick, Malik Bonck, Cassidy Kilpatrick, Kyson Bonck, Camille Kilpatrick, and Nora Rae Bonck, whose lives he enriched with wisdom, encouragement, and joy. He is also survived by his brother, John Steven Kilpatrick; his mother-in-law, Joyce Watson Landess; and his cousins, Bruce Kilpatrick and Jennifer Kilpatrick, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Nicole Kilpatrick, and his father-in-law, George Allen Landess.
A man of many talents, Byron excelled in carpentry, welding, and design. He found true joy in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and quietly enjoying God’s creation.
Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice knowing he now rests in the presence of his Savior, having heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love will remain forever in our hearts.
