Charles T. CherrySylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Charles T. Cherry, 83, will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Roberts officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.Mr. Cherry died Wednesday, October 15, 2015 at his residence.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Kathleen Cherry; parents, Howard and  Nila Cherry and brother, Roland Cherry.  He was an avid fisherman and gardener, he loved to read his western books and loved western movies.  He loved his family.  He served in the US Army for 26 years.  He was a Korean veteran.  He was Post Commander of VFW 1701 and he retired as Sergeant First Class Troop E 31st Calvary.He is survived by his children, Ronnie Cherry, wife Brenda,  Donnie Cherry, wife Misha and Patricia Cody, husband Chris; granddaughters, Katy Brown, Laura Brown, Jessica Brown and Rachel Brown; grandsons, Jeremy Cherry, Matthew Cherry, Carson Cherry, Brady Burton and Braxton Cherry; great-granddaughter, Annabell; great-grandson, Jackson Wilbourne; sisters, Barbara Waites and Kay Mizzell. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
