Buddy was born in Sylacauga, January 11, 1953 and went to his Heavenly Father, April 10, 2018.
Services for Buddy will be Monday, April 16 at 2:00 PM at Weogufka Family Worship Center with his very best friend, Rev. Tommy Thornton officiating and assisted by Phillip Alverson with burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 15 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Margie Stephens Gilliland and sister, Emily Jane Dye. Survivors are his loving wife of 46 years, Jane Wingfield Gilliland; daughter, Amy Mullins (Beau) of Weogufka; son, Adam Gilliland of Sylacauga; son, Dr. Andrew Gilliland (Raylan) of Okeechobee, FL; sister, Becky Johns of Sylacauga; aunt, Pauline Gilliland Griffin of Sylacauga; loving grandson, Thomas Mullins; several nieces and nephews.
Buddy graduated from Sylacauga High School and attended Alex City Junior College. He owned and operated Yongers Blossom Curb Market. He retired from Alfa Insurance in 2010 and began his love of cattle farming. Buddy was a member of Weogufka Family Worship Center where he was an inactive deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was presently serving as a proud board member of Coosa County Cattlemen’s Association.
Pallbearers will be Rance Johns, Luke Scott, Trace Riggins, Mark Wingfield, Jimmy Johns and Darren Holland. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Todd Riggins and Thomas Mullins.
