Sylacauga, AL. - Gail Cotney Castleberry, 75, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at her home in Sylacauga, AL.
Gail was born on September 2, 1947 in Alexander City, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Rado Cotney & Mildred McGill Cotney. She was a graduate of B.B. Comer High School, class of 1965.
Gail sold cars most of her adult life. She was known as the Car Lady. She was friends with 3 Governors of the State of Alabama, numerous Senators, State Representative's, Judges and Mayors. Basically, Gail was friends to many people throughout the state. She was one of a kind with an outgoing personality. She loved her friends and family. She won numerous awards in the car and insurance business. She was loved by many people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rado & Mildred Cotney; her sister, Carol Cotney Hardy; and her grandson Dakota Blaine Castleberry.
She is survived by her sons, Tommy (Vicki) Castleberry, Steve (Kelly) Castleberry; her grandson, Cotney Castleberry; her granddaughter, Carolina Castleberry; and nephews, Brian Smith, and Kenny (Kim) Smith.
Visitation will be Monday, July 10, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home followed by a Graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Greenhill Cemetery with Bro. Mark Deason officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian Smith, Kenny Smith, Lonnie Ray Berryman, Alan Griffitt, Chris Blankenship and Tommy Castleberry.
