Gertrude Murphy

Funeral service for Gertrude Murphy Sylacauga will be Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev.Dwayne Shurum officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Murphy passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Gene Murphy, parents, George and Winnie Doss, brother, Raymond Doss and sister, Nellie Chappell.

She was an avid bingo player and loved going to church and was once very active in the Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors are her sons, William Greg Murphy (Cherlynn), Dennis Murphy (Beverly), sister, Carrie Miller, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
