

Jack D. White passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Coosa Valley Medical Center, at the age of 84. A lifelong resident of Sylacauga, Mr. White served 20 years in the U.S. Army and was a former police officer with the city of Sylacauga. He was responsible for the Pinecrest walking track and Veterans Park. He is survived by his wife, Caroline L. White, step children James R. Ledbetter and wife Anne, Terry Ledbetter and wife Linda, Patricia Clowers and husband Dennis. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 17 great grand children, a brother Hugh G. White and nieces Gail Hughes and Beth Hoggles. He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. The funeral will be Tuesday July 19, 2011 at 2PM at Curtis and Son Funeral North Chapel. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday July 19, 12PM until 2PM. Rev. Lewis Archer and Rev. Sidney Martin and Rev. Bryon White will be officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Alan Ledbetter, Clifford Barnett, David F. Bush, Austin Taylor Bush, Grant Chandler Bush, Jason Clowers, Chris Clowers, Dennis Clowers. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the services.
