
Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for James M. (Candy) Honeycutt, 87, will be Friday, September 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Donnie Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Hollins Cemetery in Hollins, AL.
Mr. Honeycutt passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Columbus M. (Hoss) Honeycutt; mother, Bessie Lee Honeycutt; grandson, Patrick Honeycutt; son-in-law, Jay Harris; daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Gardner; 3 brothers, William, Jimmy, and A.J. Honeycutt; and 4 sisters, Anna Belle Morris, Lula Mae Roberson, Parlee Thomas, and Ola Bea Blair. Mr. Honeycutt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He worked at National Standard for 21 years and worked 17 years at Baeunet Textile. Mr. Honeycutt never met a stranger and was known for being a syrup maker, a carpenter, and a farmer. He was also known for his love for his tractor and his grand-dog Peppy.
Mr. Honeycutt is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah Weathers Honeycutt; three sons, Melvin Honeycutt of Sylacauga, AL, Wayne Honeycutt wife Joyce of Sylacauga, AL, Michael Honeycutt of Troy, AL; two daughters, Melissa Harris of Sylacauga, AL, Shirley Floyd husband Steve of Elkmont, AL; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Honeycutt, Adam Honeycutt, David Honeycutt, Stephen Floyd, Michael Oneal, and James Chambless.
