Sylacauga, AL - John Russell Edgreen, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 8, 2021 from COVID complications.
He was born in Pennsylvania on September 5, 1951, to Russell and Joella Edgreen. John was preceded in death by his father, Russell George Edgreen and his brother, Dale Eugene Edgreen.
He is survived by his mother, Joella Edgreen; sister, Judy Lease (Jerry) of Forest, VA. and sister, Peggy Bucy (Kevin) of Darrington, WA; nieces, Brie-Anne and Kristian; nephews, Caleb and Micah; his cousin, Barbara Allen and her daughter Rebecca; and many, many friends. Special thanks to Skip, Pam, Joyce and Tommy Jean for your love and friendship.
John grew up in Apalachin, NY and graduated from Owego Free Academy in Oswego, NY. He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.
John had live in Sylacauga for over 40 years where he retired from Blue Bell Creamery. He attended First Baptist Church in Sylacauga where he was a member of the Perry Andrews Sunday School Class and was able to share his knowledge of the Bible. He also attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Alpine where they shared fellowship, meals and recipes.
He was a loyal volunteer for Carpenters for Christ-Ramp Builders and was an avid golfer and member of the Sylacauga Country Club.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
