

Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for John "Leck" Horton, 89, will be Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Dr. Larry Morrison and Rev. Ken Norris officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Leck passed away the evening of December 24, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, W.T. and Queenie Smith Horton; wife, Mildred Norred; second wife, Willie Carter; brothers, Paul Horton, Frank Horton and Herbert Horton. He retired as plant superintended in 1993 from Sullivan Graphics/Dixie Color Print after 32 years. In his retirement he enjoyed his volunteer work of 17 years with the hospital auxiliary and ramp ministry. He was a Veteran of WWII in the Army Air Corp.
He is survived by his daughter, Wanda (Ricky) Craft of Sylacauga; grandson, Philip (Lisa) Craft of Port Lucie, Florida; granddaughter, Erin (Chris) Craft-Poore of Opelika; two great-granddaughters, Dani Poore, Sophie Craft; special friend, Evelyn Brown; two step sons, Randy Carter and Tommy (Lynn) Carter; three grandchildren, Brian Carter, Amanda Carter and Tyler Carter.
Visitation will be Tuesday December 27, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
