Joseph Lee Plexico Jr., age 87, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Joseph was born August 5, 1933 to Katherine Gann Plexico and Dr. Joseph Lee Plexico, Sr.. A graveside service for Joseph will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Unity Cemetery, 8780 Coosa County Rd. 56, Weogufka, AL. Rev. Charles Sims will officiate all services. Joseph is survived by his wife, Annette Redd Plexico of Sylacauga; daughter Leesa Plexico of Sylacauga; sons Joseph Lee Plexico, III (Pam) of Sylacauga, James E. Plexico (Shannon) of Sylacauga, and Van Allen Plexico (Ami) of Smithton, IL; 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Joseph was preceded in death by father Dr. Joseph Lee Plexico, Sr., mother Katherine Gann Plexico, and his first wife, Annette Davenport Plexico. Serving as pallbearers are Kyle Plexico, Blake Plexico, Dillon Plexico, Ronnie Craddock, Ken Sims and Mark Wyatt. Joseph graduated from the Navy School of Electronics and Auburn University. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Joseph served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He loved Auburn football and NASCAR racing. He was an avid Ham radio operator for 70 years. He worked at Avondale Mills, Sylacauga and retired from Wingfield Engineering in Goodwater, AL. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
