Katherine "Kat" Edwards

Kat was a founding member of Sylacauga Community Playhouse where she won numerous awards including Most Valuable Player Lifetime Award. She is best known for her role as "Weezer" in Steel Magnolias. Kat was a member of Fayetteville Baptist Church.

Kat is survived by her daughter Jayne Ramos (Benny); her son Randy Edwards (Rachel); and her daughter Penny Thomas; her grandchildren Scott Fowler, Chasity Dennis, Katie Fowler, and Christina Grier; her great grandchildren Kaitlyn Fowler, Brady Miller, Brycen Miller, Sami Miller, Lexi Grier, Christopher Grier, Randy Wayne Fallon and Bayle Camp; her sisters Judith Bush, Mae Connelley, and Jean Poe; and her brother Buddy Hamilton.

Kat was preceded in death by her husband Ray R. Edwards; her son Rickey Gene Edwards; her father Floyd Hamilton and her mother Bertha Hamilton; her brother Charles Hamilton; her brother Milton Hamilton and her sister Lorene Bess.

A visitation for Kat will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.

Kat will be laid to rest in Fayetteville Cemetery, 5441 Old Fayetteville Rd, Sylacauga, AL 35151.
