Leverne (Granny Vern) McGrady BiceSylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Leverne (Granny Vern) McGrady Bice, 83, will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Don Evans and Rev. Tommy Thornton officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.Mrs. Bice died January 21, 2016 at her residence.   She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was a very strong Christian lady who loved the Lord and her church family.  She was a faithful member of Newsite Baptist Church for 70 years.  She was a volunteer ata the West Coosa Senior Center for 21 years on the Advisory Council and RSVP.  Mrs. Bice retired from South Central Bell with over 30 years of service.  She was preceded in death by father and mother, William and Lera McGrady; her husband of 63 years, Jack Bice; sister, Louise Hodges and step-mother, Gladys McGrady.She is survived by her sons, Mark Bice, wife Jane of Sylacauga, son, Brad Bice, wife Regina; sisters, Bonnie Bice, husband BeBe of Huntsville and Linda Hatchett, husband Wayne of Sylacauga; brothers, Wayne Fowler, wife Sandra of Tampa, FL, Don Fowler, wife Nena of Columbiana, AL, Robert Fowler, wife Melissa of Childersburg and George Fowler, wife Jan of Sylacauga; grandchildren, Amy Bice Wilson, Stephanie Bice Goff, husband Justin, Kimberly Green, husband Adam and Brandon Bice; great-grandchildren, Seth Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Zach Dew, Kason Green, Kinsley Green and great-great-grandchild, Brysen Kelley. Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.The family would like to give special thanks to Coosa Valley Hematology and Oncology and to Dr. Ashraf and his staff and to all the staff of Amedysis Hospice for the care of our family.The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to West Coosa Senior Center or C.O.A.C.H..Pallbearers will be Brandon Bice, Seth Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Zach Dew, Justin Goff and Adam Green.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
