Sylacauga, AL. - Mildred Hill Rush, age 87, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Mildred is survived by her two sons, Robert Rush (Beverly) of Alexander City, Thomas Rush of Talladega Springs; four sisters, Marie Reiderer of Iron River, Wisconsin, Gladys Hughes of Childersburg, Irene Turner of Dadeville, and her sister Lorene Hill of Alexander City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rush; parents, William T. and Bertha E. Hill; and six brothers Martin Hill, Rufus Hill, Henry Hill, Jimmy Hill, George Hill, and Clifton (Pete) Hill.
Mildred worked in the textile industry for over twenty years. She was a dedicated seamstress for the Russell Corporation, Sylacauga Garment, and White Knight in Childersburg. Mildred later worked as a store manager for Marathon Oil Company in Knoxville, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama for a span of twenty years before retiring.
Her sons Robert and Thomas remember her as being very dedicated to her family. Mildred grew up attending St. Andrews Methodist Church and later was a member of the Talladega Springs Baptist Church. She had a strong Christian conviction. In her illness, she faced it with great strength.
A graveside service for Mildred will be Friday, November 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Talladega Springs Cemetery.
