
Ollie J. Heath, Sr.Sycamore - Funeral service for Ollie J. Heath, Sr., 84, will be Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Stan Gaddis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, Alabama.Mr. Heath died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at his residence. He was a Retired Lt. Colonel after serving 25 years in the Armed Forces. He was a decorated veteran who was awarded with the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal, Purple Heart, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Four Oversea Bars, Army Commendation Medal, Expert (.45 Cal Pistol), Sharpshooter (Rifle M-1) Sharpshooter (Carbine). He was a retired math teacher and also acquired a Real Estate License. He was the first Juvenile Probation officer in Talladega County. Mr. Heath was a member of Risers Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Doshie Heath and sister, Louise Osborne.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine Heath of Sycamore; son, Ollie J. Heath, Jr., wife Patti of Alpine; daughters, Martha Liner, husband Nelson of Sycamore, Janie Carter, husband Roger of Harvest, AL and Lou Youngblood, husband Kerry of Alexandria, LA; grandchildren, James Heath Liner, wife Tammie, Tonya Henderson, husband Mark, Jonathan Carter, Chris Heath, Christina Robinson, husband Jason, Rachel Harrigar, husband Bob, Shay Youngblood and Chase Youngblood; great-grandchildren, Matthew Liner, Blake Liner, Houston Maddox, Chance Maddox, Lacy Liner, Will Henderson, Catie-Beth Henderson, Kelsey Robinson, Kristen Robinson and Colton Robinson. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 5 until 8 p.m.Pallbearers will be Chris Heath, Matthew Liner, Blake Liner, Chance Maddox, Jonathan Carter, Shay Youngblood and Chase Youngblood.
