Rex Stewart

Sylacauga, AL - Graveside service for Rex Stewart, 90, will be Friday, September 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL with Rev. Russell Gooden officiating. 

Mr. Stewart passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Grace H. Stewart; infant daughter, Susan Stewart; and brother, Harvey Stewart.

Mr. Stewart was a member of Marble City Baptist Church in Sylacauga, AL. He had many skills and various business interests. A "Jack of All Trade," he could design, build, and repair anything. Mr. Stewart was very generous, always willing to help others, and had a wonderful sense of humor, but most importantly he always put his family first.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his children; son, John E. Stewart and wife Rita; daughter, Rexan Stewart Cain husband James; and son, Clay W. Stewart wife Amy; five grandchildren, Angela Tow husband Dennis, John Daniel Stewart wife Paige,  Ashley Orr husband Brandon, Emily Watkins husband Cheston, Sara Grace Stewart,  and Kaitlyn Rebecca Stewart; seven great-grandchildren, Jack Tow, Evan Tow, Grace Tow, Blaine Stewart, Case Stewart, Brantley Denny, Drake Watkins; brother, Charles Stewart; two sisters, Gertie Grier, Zona Glosson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
