Roy Green

Roy Victor Green, age 77, of Weogufka, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 8th,2021. He was born to John William Green and Gladys Elizabeth Green May 23, 1943. He was affectionately known as Da to his family.

Mr. Green was an educator, coach, and principal within the Coosa County School System. He was a devoted member Weogufka 2nd Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sundayschool teacher, and choir member.

He is survived by his sons Scott (Amy) and Jason (Julie); grandchildren, Will Green, Maggie Green, Walsh Green and Evie Green. He is also survived by siblings: Gary Green, Bobby Green, Peggy Morgan, Janice Breedlove and Cathy Myers.

Mr. Green is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Linda Green, parents, John William “Willie” and Gladys Shaw Green, brother’s James Green, Claud Green, Robert Green,and sister Pauline Araiza.

A visitation for Roy will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Weogufka 2nd Baptist Church. With a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will occur at Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service of Mr. Green are Will Green, Jim Green, Melvin Palmer, Johnny Turney, Sonny Braden, John Frank Thompson, and honorary pallbearer Walsh Green.
