Virginia Shunk

Mrs. Virginia Ruth Ellison Shunk age 82 passed away at her residence on February 16, 2011. Funeral services for Mrs. Shunk will be held on Sunday February 20, 2011 at 2PM , a Graveside Service at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on February 19, 2011 from 5-8PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Pastor Karl Doerner will be officiating. Survivors are Husband; William Earl Shunk of Sylacauga, Sons; Ricky J. Bullard (Missy) of Sylacauga, Al, William E. Shunk II (Janine) of Cropwell, Al, Jeffery A. Shunk (Bonnie) of Tarpon Springs, Fl., Daughters: Susan M. Billingsley of Birmingham, Al, Terry E. Cook (Jon D.) of Weogufka, Al, Twelve Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Shunk was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin E. Ellison, Sisters; Charlotte Deason, and Juanita Billingsley. Mrs. Shunk was born here in Sylacauga, Alabama, she attended B.B. Comer High School before moving all over the country and abroad, including Japan, as a United States Air Force wife where she was very active in the NCO wives club, holding the office of president for most of that time. Virginia was an active member of the Birmingham First Seventh Day Adventist Church. Known also as Jenny, Nana, and Jenny-mamma. She devoted most of her life to her husband, children and parents. Pallbearers will be Randy Billingsley, Mike Deason, Harry Ellison, Travis Mizzell, John Miller and Bret Ellison. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests contributions are make to the Birmingham First Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3520 Lorna Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35216, or Southern Care incorporated, 220 east 3rd Street, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150 for their excellent care and professionalism through everything. Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the service.
