James Leland Westberry

Mr. James L. Westberry, 71, of Newington, died Friday night, May 15, 2015, in Optim Medical Center -- Screven following a sudden illness.

He was born in Odum, Georgia on April 28, 1944, to the late Lee and Geraldene Carter Westberry. He was a retired automobile body repairman and was a U. S. Army veteran.

Surviving Mr. Westberry are Daughters and Sons-in-Law; Debbie A. an Robert T. Miller of Newington, GA, Denise Westberry of Jacksonville, FL:, Anita L. and Toby Parker of Sylvania, GA, and Vanessa and Carlos Castellanos, of Jacksonville, FL, Sisters and Brothers-in-Law; Harriet and Jerome Long and Janet and Larry Whaling all of Jacksonville; Brother and Sister-in-Law; Bobby and Prince Ann Westberry of Jacksonville; 11 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews.

A visitation was held Sunday, May 17, 2015, from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home in Sylvania.

Memorial Service: Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 Saint John’s Bluff Road N., Jacksonville, FL, with Pastor David White officiating.

A memorial service and burial in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA at a later time.
