Sylvania – Jimmy Brooks Potter, age 72, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA. He was born in Screven County, GA, was retired from the Screven Co. Board of Education where he worked in maintenance and was a member of McBride United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Jerry Buck & Evelyn Sheley Potter; Brother: Jerry Potter; Sisters: Janie Weaver and Toni Hall; Grandson: D’Wayne Burke.
Survivors: Wife: Carolyn McMillan Potter of Sylvania; Sons and Daughter-In-Law: Robin & Diane Potter, Toby Potter and Kelly Potter & his special friend, Beth Adams, all of Sylvania; Sister and Brother-In-Law: Wanda & Steve LeMaster of Barnwell, SC; Brothers-In-Law: Larry Hall of Garfield, GA and Carlton Weaver of Sylvania; Several additional Brothers and Sisters-In-Law; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: Friday, February 14, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Smith officiating. Burial following at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
