Ms. Shelby belong to the cole.org.  For some reason she has email me everyday giving me encouragement through our enourmous difficulty with our 3 yrs old son going through a rare eye cancer.  Shelby was and inspiration to me everyday.  We love her so much.

Shelby's Family, Please know that I am so very sorry for your loss.  Even though I only met Shelby online and we sent email back and forth she was a dear, dear friend.  She was truly an Angel.  She appeared out of the blue when I needed someone to talk to.  I had lost my husband in Oct., 2010.  Shelby allowed me to "vent" how I was feeling and she shared her feelings about her mother's passing.  

Shelby will truly make a beautiful addition to Heaven.  She was a very beautiful person inside and out.  

We sent so much personal stuff back and forth that pretty soon we were calling each other Sis.  I knew Shelby through Caring Bridge.

I met Mrs. Shelby eight years ago when I started with Farm Bureau. She was always the life of our meetings with her humor and sweet self. To the family, we have never met personally but I feel like I have know each and every one of you. Shelby always had to tell us at our meetings what new things that her family and grandchildren were doing. Without a doubt she is now a guardian ANGEL in heaven looking over you all. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. I will so miss her laughter at our meetings as well as getting her precious encouraging emails. I had not seen Shelby since high school, but I have always remembered her.  I first met her at my cousins' birthday parties in Newington.  Later, I considered her to be my best friend during my high school years.  I remember being honored when she and I were a few of those Latin students chosen to sit at the head table at the Latin Banquet.  We were so worried about our manners and not embarrassing ourselves in front of Miss Herrington and Mr. Marchman.  I talked on the telephone with her every afternoon, and I enjoyed talking to her during our study hall in our Junior year in Larry Waters' classroom.  Shelby and I shared our secrets, our hopes, joys, sorrows and many other thoughts about life and death.   
I always wanted to get back in touch.
I am so very sorry for your loss; It must be devastating, especially with it being so sudden.  No one can completely understand another's feelings, but with our loss of Charlotte so unexpectedly, I can remember the pain and sorrow my family and I endured.
Ricky, I certainly haven't forgotten you either.  My mother talked very highly of you after one of her last trips to Buck Creek.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Dear Scott Family,

I know you do not know me, my name is Ranae Christensen. Shelby was like family to my family and especially my son, Shane.. now a Angel in Heaven and also your awesome grandchildren, Wyatt and Madyson who sent Shane a home made wind chime, cards and pictures through the mail.

I am truly saddened by Shelby's death. Shelby was more than just a friend; she was an amazing person. She was always so kind and considerate to us and left uplifting messages on Shane's Caring Bridge site.

Her passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Shelby's memory will always remain deep within my heart.

To Shelby's family. I met Shelby after I came to work for Farm Bureau myself. I am the Office Manager in McIntosh County. Shelby was always had a smile for everyone and was a joy to be around. We don't always understand why God takes certain ones, but he is in control. Put your faith in God and he will see you through. I lost my husband 3 1/2 years ago, it hurt to let him go but God, my family, friends and church group got me through it and I still have bad days, cherish your memories. I met Shelby 24 years ago when I began working with Farm Bureau.  I am still trying to digest the sad news I heard this morning about my friend Shelby. She was a person who never met a stranger and when you met her, you never forgot her.  Ricky and family, just know that God has his loving arms wrapped around you and is grieving with you.

Shelby will forever be in our thoughts and hearts.  She loved everyone and really loved and prayed for the kids on C.O.L.E's Foundation.  Shelby was a  friend even though we are many states away and never meet.  We talked many times on the phone and our friendship grew and she always had a BIG heart and love for so many.  Shelby you will be missed.  Many prayers for the family as you are grieving the loss of a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend.  We forever love you Shelby and know, you are in Heaven with Jesus walking on streets of pure Gold.

Even though Shelby and I had never met, we had a very common bond concerning the love for our children.  As Haley went through her chemotherapy, Shelby was always sending an e-mail with an encouraging message.  We had just e-mailed several times last week concerning FB annual meetings; and just yesterday she sent an e-mail about having a loving relationship with our God.   I was shocked to find out she had passed away.  I want her family to know that even though she will be greatly missed by many people, there is absolutely no doubt where she is now and for eternity. Shelby lived a wonderful and encouraging Christian witness.  She adored her family, especially her  grandchildren. God is saying, "well done, my good and faithful servant!"
