I was going through some books and  came across, "Darkness Visible" by William Styron.
In the book, I found 2 cards: One of the Blessed Mother and it says, "I prayed for you at Lourdes." The other one is Father Kealey' s card from St. Sylvester's RC Church.  He was the pastor there.
Father Kealey gave me this book because he knew that I was going through a dark time, emotionally and mentally, at that time. I believe he knew that the book would help me.
Thank you Father Kealey and I hope to, one day, be blessed to meet you in heaven.

So sorry.  Just saw this post of Fr. Ed Kealey passing.
He was a great Priest at St. Sylvester.  
His forced retirement was a huge loss for the Parish.  It was never the same.
I have since transferred to another local Parish
In 2021.

I was with Fr. Ed, before he was ordained, at a retreat (I was one of his classmates).  I offered some criticism that he took to heart.   I still feel badly about it, but he seemed to have taken it to heart.  He became the priest that he was and I believe he served his priesthood well.  I can only say I am a better person for my interaction and love for him.

We just learned of Fr. Ed's passing from Sue T. and we were lucky to have him in our life. He was the epitome of what every priest should be. He was not afraid to tell the truth and "fire off a letter." He made such a difference in our lives, our 26 and 30 yr. old sons' lives, and elderly mom's life.  He made St. Sylvester's parish come alive with Fr. Michael.       
Fr. Ed was there for our sons' communions and confirmations and even in retirement he celebrated my Mom's funeral Mass for us. He wrote special inspiring letters to both boys when they graduated college and HS and they framed them and treasure them. His homilies were always awesome because he brought his life experiences to us, as well as history lessons, as he explained the Gospel.  My religion classes over 10 years always enjoyed asking him questions and learning from him.  Fr. Ed made a difference in so many peoples' lives and he will be sorely missed. We can have comfort in knowing that we can talk to him in prayer. God Bless Fr. Ed.

We are lucky to have known Father Ed - to have had such a devoted priest - for the many beautiful Masses Father Ed celebrated, for the beautiful Church environment both visually & spiritually, for the Good Friday 3 hour Services he planned - & for the renovation of our Church - he planned & worked so hard on - all for the benefit & future of our Church Community.  Thank you Father Ed for your kindness to my Mother, Lola - & for your kindness to me.  Thank you for the countless many lives & hearts you touched. We were Blessed to have such a devoted & awesome Pastor.  Fr Ed - It was Good that You were Here  Love to you Father Ed. ❤

Was sorry to hear of the passing of Father Ed, he presided over the wedding of my wife Veronica and I in 2007, and he  always seemed to have a very thoughtful, intelligent outlook on spirituality and God. . .RIP Father Ed and condolences to his family

Our dear Father Ed was the best priest I have known in my lifetime (and I had two uncles who were priests.) He was thoughtful, caring, and always giving. His sermons were intelligent, theological, and yet given in a way even the children could understand. He was very approachable; he would always stop to talk to anyone. His advice was never judgemental, just honest and supportive. He spoke the truth even when there would be consequences. His forced retirement from St. Sylvester's Church was a huge loss for our parish.  We always were happy to see him visit The Church of the Most Precious Blood at Davis Park in the summer. He will be greatly missed by my family and many others. 

Dear Father Ed, We want to thank you for all you did for our Parish at St. Sylvesters. Through your tireless effort you rebuilt our church   to a place of beauty.  Your sermons and stories you told ,especially at Our Christmas Midnight Mass, were heart warming and enlightening.
   God bless you Father Ed we will never forget you.
