

Dolores Louise, 97, passed away Tuesday, peacefully at Park Avenue Nursing Home in Arlington, MA. Dolores was born November 8, 1913, the youngest of twelve children to Daria and Bartholomew DeSimio in Pesco Sannita, Italy. Dolores resided in Syracuse for her entire adult life and lived in Arlington, MA for the past 4 years. Dolores was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Pompei community. Dolores worked with her sister and brother in law for decades managing a family grocery store. Dolores thoroughly enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, music, bingo and community gatherings. Her greatest joy was spending time telling stories to her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Frank in 1994, to whom she was married to for 54 years.
Dolores is survived by her two sons and daughter: Anthony, (Carrie Sorensen and her two children Paul and Kaj), Michael, Dorothy, along with 5 grandchildren, Ariana, Daniel, Lauren Louise of Watertown, N.Y., and Andra and Andrew Searles of Arlington, MA, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews and their families both here and in Italy.
Funeral services will be conducted by Farone & Son Funeral Home at 9:15 A.M. Saturday, followed by a 10 A.M. Mass at Our Lady of Pompei Church, Ash Street, with burial at Assumption Cemetery.
Calling hours are on Friday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
There will be a celebratory luncheon following the burial at St. Peter’s Parish Center, Willow Street. All are welcome.
Contributions may be made in Dolores’ memory to Our Lady of Pompei Church and the American Parkinson’s Foundation.
