Dorothea M. (Bender) LeRoy

Dorothea M. (Bender) LeRoy, 85, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in McGraw, NY she resided in Syracuse all of her adult life. Dorothea retired from the State of New York Compensation Board after many years. She is predeceased by her husband, Houghton LeRoy, Sr. in 2011.

Dorothea is survived by her three sons, Houghton, Jr. (Kathleen) LeRoy of Baldwinsville, DJ LeRoy of Lowville and Dennis LeRoy of Syracuse; three sisters, Arlene Body and Gloria Body both of Syracuse and Joan (Don) Arquette of Constantia; brother, Walter Bender of Brewerton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 10 a.m. at PIRRO & SONS FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
