Survivors include his estranged wife, Gloria Smith; daughters, Tina Gaston Thomas, Khalila Adkinson, and MarQueshia Smith, all of Syracuse, Beverly Rucker of Santa Rosa, CA, and Akila Smith Benson of Columbus, OH; son, Barthalomew Smith of Syracuse; sisters, Elizabeth Chestnut, Bernice Kennebrew, Lillie Richardson, Hattie Richardson, Wanda Adair, Audrey Richardson; brothers, Grover Smith, John (Celestine) Smith, and Vernon Richardson, all of Syracuse; aunt, Ardella Robinson of Selma, AL; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Calling hours: Tuesday 9-11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 347 Cortland Ave, Syracuse.
