Yvonne Ostrander

Yvonne (Dumas) Davis Ostrander, 105, a resident of Solvay passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011. She was the middle child born to Rose and Emile Dumas on March 27, 1906. Yvonne married Roy Davis in Watertown, NY. He passed away in 1937. She then moved to Solvay with her two children and married Harold Ostrander who passed away in 1965. Yvonne wintered in Sarasota, Florida for many years. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, bowling, and dancing.

She is survived by her ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, and one brother-in-law, James Kelly.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Onetamae M. Britton; her son, Alvin Davis; her son-in-law, William R. Britton; her grandson, Royal Davis and granddaughter, Sandra Ostrander; all of her siblings passed before her; sisters, Alice Ryan, Irene Broadway, and Shirley Kelly; her brothers, Romeo Dumas and Armond Dumas.

The family would like to say a special thanks to St. Camillus Health & rehab Center. You are special people who gave care to Yvonne for several years. You know who you are and we thank you.

Funeral services will be private.

Burial will be held at Warners Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
