
He was a graduate of Taft High School. Hector married Yolanda Carranza of Corpus Christi, Texas, on April 24, 1955, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for thirty-seven years. Upon retirement, Hector drove a bus for Taft ISD. He resided in Taft since early childhood.
Hector enjoyed his family who gathered often for campouts at private, state and national parks. His love for travel took him and his wife R-Ving throughout the United States, Canada and also toured much of Mexico. They enjoyed pilgrimages to Rome, the Holy Land and Egypt.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnold Valle; and sisters, Beatrice Martinez and Olivia DeLeon.
Hector was a devoted Catholic, husband and father who instilled the faith in his children and grandchildren. Hector and Yolanda had five children: Hector Gerard “Gery” (Anna) Valle, Gabriel “Gabe” David Valle, Evelyn Marie (Thomas) Reimer, Laura Ann (Rodney) Taylor and Crystal Celeste (Adolfo) Aparicio. He also took pride in his sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Homer Valle, Raul Valle, Evagelina Valle and Lydia Franco, all residing in California. Hector also enjoyed many years and memories with his best friend and confident, Alonso Rodriquez. His last years were enhanced by the companionship of his devoted dog, Tazi.
Visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, Taft on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Burial will follow the service at Taft Memorial Park.
