She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Juanita retired as a security guard for Anchor Gold Marine.
Juanita is preceded by her parents, Miguel and Aurora Garza Maldonado; brothers, Mike Maldonado, Adolfo Maldonado, and Armando Maldonado.
She is survived by her husband, Gabriel Hernandez; and sisters, Maria Elena Vargas, Mary Lou Gonzales, and Odilia Maldonado.
A visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that same evening.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at a later date.
