Aaron Eugene Stopp was born on Friday, July 31st, 1970 in Tahlequah, OK the son of Pauline Stopp-Belk. He grew up with four brothers and two sisters, Billy Joe, Donald, Harold, Kenneth, Karen, and Cheryl. When Aaron was little, his siblings gave him the nickname “Stinky”. No one really knows why. He graduated from Hulbert High School. He joined the Navy in 1988, where he served as a surgical technician, until 1992. After being discharged, he worked at various hospitals in Muskogee and Norman, before landing in Austin, Texas, where he lived for many years. Whenever he was in town, he would always take the time to visit his family and friends. He never missed a chance to get out and see all of the sights that the city had to offer. While living in Austin, he worked at Northwest Hills Surgical Hospital, a job that he absolutely loved. Aaron was a work-a-holic who loved helping people. He never met a stranger, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He got his first contract job in St. Louis, but when his health began to decline, he moved back home to Oklahoma to be with his family. Aaron went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27th, 2020 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 49 years old. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cornelius Downing and Sally (Bigfeather) Treasurer, his mother Pauline Stopp-Belk, two brothers, Billy Joe and Donald Stopp, nephew, Jay Don Alberty, aunt, Cora Soban, and uncle Walter Howard "Ratts" Treasurer.
