Amber Marie Settlemyre Lay

Funeral services for Amber Marie Settlemyre-Lay will be held on Friday, January 29th, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Church with Pastor Mike Saddler officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 from noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Bill Batt Cemetery. Pallbearers for Amber include Charlie Turtle, Bon Settlemyre, Charles Wayne Fields, Cainan Lay, Jamie Settlemyre, and Steven Coffee. Honorary pallbearers for Amber include Clyde Settlemyre and John Settlemyre.

Amber Marie Settlrmyre-Lay was born on September 17th, 1975 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Robert and Lori Janelle (Watkins) Settlemyre. Amber grew up with her two brothers, Donald Coffee and Jamie Settlemyre and attended school at Oaks Mission School, then she began her working career as a CNA/CMA for various facilities around the area. She was a hard working nurse aide, who gave her clients the best of care, the healing touch, a shoulder to lean on, and a hand to hold. She had a beautiful smile that made a room light up when she entered. When she wasn’t working, Amber loved being mom to Bon, Cainan, and Lydia, they were her pride and joy. She followed their activities with motherly pride and attended every game or activity that her children participated in. She was a Christian by faith, and never forgot to praise the Lord that made her and blessed her. She collected angels, placing them close by to remind her of His love for her family. Amber was happiest when in the company of her family, sharing a summer picnic or cookout, or gathered for a holiday meal. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on January 22nd, 2016 at her home in Watts, OK. She was 40 years old. Amber may only have been here for a short time, but the happiness and love she gave to all those around her, was enough for a lifetime.

Amber is preceded in death by her mother, father, and her grandparents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lydia Lay and companion Randall Pack of Watts, OK, her sons, Bon Settlemyre of Westville, OK, and Cainan Lay of Westville, OK, and two brothers, Donald Coffee and Jamie Settlemyre all of Westville, OK. Her legacy lives on in her soon to arrive granddaughter, Kodah Amber Pack due May 31st, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
