

Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for Bonnie Romero will be held on Thursday, December 29th, 2011 at 2:00 OM at the Elm Tree Baptist church with Reverend DJ McCarter officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Burial will be at Agent Cemetery in Cherokee County.
Pallbearers for Bonnie include Johnson, Wacoche, Billy Wacoche, Waylon Tarkington, Robert Tarkington, Dave Olivera, and Mickey Dugan. Ray kingfisher will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Bonnie Kingfisher Romero was born on August 30th, 1956 in Tahlequah, OK the daughter of Eagle and Sarah (Agent) Kingfisher. Bonnie attended school in the Tahlequah and graduated from college with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. As a social worker, Bonnie had the opportunity to touch the lives of many children and teenagers at Sequoyah School. Bonnie was a very thoughtful and quiet person, but had a heart as big as all outdoors. She loved her family and friends and any time spent with them. A day off was sure to be spent fishing or swimming. She loved gospel music and singing traditional Cherokee hymns. A Baptist by faith, she was a member of Elm Tree Baptist Church in Tahlequah. Bonnie’s health began to fail her and she went home to her Lord and Savior on December 24th, 2011 in Tulsa, OK. Bonnie was 55 years old. She will be greatly missed for her sweet smile and her compassion for people.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, her son, Eagle in 1983, and her brother, Reverend Randall Cummings.
Those left to cherish Bonnie’s memory include one son, Edwin Romero and wife Juana of Tahlequah as well as two brothers, Sam Kingfisher of New Mexico and Ray Kingfisher and wife Holly of Tahlequah, OK. Her legacy lives on in her two grandchildren, Jose Charley Romero and Ana Romero of Tahlequah as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
