Brenda Kay Thompson

Hulbert, OK- Memorial services for Brenda Kay Thompson will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Hulbert IOOF Cemetery in Hulbert.

Brenda Kay Thompson was born on February 2nd, 1953 in California, the daughter of Norman Leon and Eula Mae (Smith) Ezell. She graduated from Muskogee High School. Following school, Brenda decided to dedicate herself to her family and the other children that needed a loving home. She always looked out for others. She cared for her parents in their later years, she watched out for anyone that needed her help. Her door was always open. She worked hard as a waitress at Red Lobster in Muskogee. She always made sure there was a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for her family and her friends. She raised flowers and dogs, the later being her favorite, and enjoyed an evening of square dancing. She was feisty, and fiercely loyal to those she loved, especially her daughters. Brenda loved life and everything in it. She embraced the unusual and the eclectic. She would express herself in unusual house decorating schemes. She was spirited but always made her family the focus of her attention. A Christian by faith, the Lord called Brenda home from her labors on January 16th, 2013 at her home in Hulbert. Brenda was 59 years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Brenda is preceded in death by her grandmother, Dixie Smith, her mother, father, and her step father, Woodrow Wilson.

Brenda is survived by her children, Sgt. Christopher Dale Thompson and wife Missy of Jenks, OK and SSgt Robert Lee Thompson and wife Debbie of Ft. Campbell, KY. She leaves two brothers, Norman Leroy Ezell and David Ezell of Hulbert, OK. Her legacy of love lives on in her seven grandchildren, Kiana Thompson, Damon Thompson, Zeke Thompson, Elijah Thompson, Noah Thompson, Paris Thompson, and Taj Thompson. She leaves two very special nieces, Brenda Mullins and Melissa Ezell as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
