Colt was born on May 30th, 1991 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Sheila Hooper. He graduated from Eufaula High School and began his studies at Rogers State University. He began his working career in construction, cooking at the casino, and performing a number of jobs. He was a man of diverse talent. He was hard working and industrious, friendly and outgoing. He loved people. He enjoyed playing video games, cards and dominos, watching “Naruto,” and reading any book he could get his hands on. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and a keen mind, plaguing his family and friends with his rapier style wit. He was an excellent cook, and could make anything once he had the ingredients assembled. He especially enjoyed breakfast, and anything with bacon. He never tired of being in nature, hiking the woods, playing sports like basketball or hacky sack, or simply being at the river. He loved his family and friends, and kept them grounded and reminded them to be real. He hated anything fake. He had dreams of joining the marines, then retiring to operate his own construction business in the future. He passed all too soon from this life on May 19th, 2016 in Muskogee, OK. He was 24 years old. Colt will be greatly missed for the smile on his face, the laughter in his voice, and the dreams he left behind.
Colt has gone on to join his grandparents, Fanny Mouse Hooper, Maryann Anque, Bobby Lee Hooper, and one uncle, Gary Don Hooper.
Those left to cherish Colt’s memory include his mother, Sheila Hooper of Okmulgee, OK, and his six brothers and four sisters, Codi Hooper of Tahlequah, Gaylon Poafpybitty Jr. of Alaska, Jory Poafpybitty, Jeremy Poafpybitty, and Dalton Poafpybitty all of Tahlequah, Caleb Deerinwater and Colby Deerinwater of Okmulgee, OK, Shaylyn Poafpybitty and Taliah Poafpybitty of Cookson, OK, and Kyla Holmes also of Cookson, OK. Colt leaves his uncles, Harold Hooper, Bobby Blair Jr. and Billy Blair. He also leaves his uncle Dallas Pettigrew and aunt, Juli Skinner, both of Tahlequah. He leaves nephews and nieces, Jacob Jones, Chief Deerinwater, Dayja Hooper, and Dream Freeman, as well as many friends, and cousins and a host of loved ones too numerous to mention.
