Deborah Ann Pierce-Penrod was born on January 26, 1955, in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Robert Louis and Evelyn Marie (Weyrich) Pierce. She had two brothers and one sister, Robert, Steve and Brenda. She married Dann Roche’ and they raised two beautiful girls together, Krisstee and Deanna. Deborah had received her certification at Cosmetology School and was a gifted hairdresser by trade. However, she set aside being a beautician for her true passion as a stay-at-home mom. As a family, she and Dann loved nothing more than going on life’s adventures with their girls. Both had the privilege of being Girl Scout Leaders of Krisstee and Deanna, where they shared so many memories and special moments that still hold a special place in the heart of the girl’s today. Along with Girl Scouts, they enjoyed playing music of all kinds, favorites from Stevie Nicks, Heart or Fleetwood Mac. Together, they spent as much time as possibly outdoors, always at the lake or rivers. Deborah loved taking in the fresh air on their motorcycles. She later married Larry Penrod and gained two more daughters, Tracy and Terri, and one son, Scott. Her front door was always open to family and strangers alike. There was always something wonderful coming from her kitchen, maybe her homemade chicken and dumplings or her banana nutbread and brownies, and no one made cookies like Deborah. She liked the flowers blooming in her yard, and worked to keep them pretty. She was always in the company of her special canine and feline friends, Matada, Peanut, Mattie, Rocky and Duke. Deborah was a woman who valued the simple things in life. She loved to watch a little news or the history channel, or catching a laugh with The Big Bang Theory and there was nothing better than a late night ice cream cone with her grandchildren. She never wanted much for herself, but went the extra mile to make someone else smile. She worked fundraisers, gathered her family around her every chance she got. She loved to make holiday dinners and gather the ones she loved close by. She was the first one to announce the video shoot had begun, and she was placing this event on film. She was always on Pinterest, looking for her next idea to try. She refused to say good-bye, preferring “see you later”, and always believed the angels were always with you every step of your day. For all the love she had to give and all she had to do, the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on October 16th, 2017 in Tulsa, OK. There her beloved great grandbaby Denver Pierce-Hogshooter awaited her with open arms. She was 62 years old, and she will be greatly missed.
Those that went before her include her parents, husband Larry Joseph Penrod, grandbaby Denver Pierce-Hogshooter, one sister Brenda Pierce, grandmother Fern G. Piece, grandfather Robert E. Pierce, and grandparents Katherine Weyrich and J.D. Weyrich.
