Hey Bub,
All the necessary things are taken care of, and now to write a few things about you. You were always a giving person…your time, your food, your advice and even if it was your last dollar, you were willing to give it up without asking for it to be returned to you. You were always concerned about the safety, health or happiness of family on a daily basis. We would see you drive by, real slow to see if we would see you. When we didn’t, you’d stop to tell us you drove by and to ask, "how you doin". That was you, "how you doin?"
You were persistent when it came to worrisome events. You stayed with your goal of trying to gain control of the situation. I saw you worry and sit quietly for long periods at a time, but I also knew you were thinking of all the possible solutions and "what ifs." You did your best to take care of mom and when matters were out of your hand, you found help and stood by worried but you were there should you be needed. When mom went to glory, I believe your heart broke and never recovered. I could see the lonesomeness in you, hear sadness in your conversations and listen as you sat silently wishing you knew what to do with the rest of your days.
When your body became worn, you must have known your time was short. You made your rounds to see family and without letting us know you were feeling bad. You gave us a good day with you. A day full of laughter and conversation. You let us know that you were saved and that you had forgiveness for many.
On March 18, 2021, I believe mom asked, "Can I go get him?". It was then that she was given permission to come get you and hold your hand for your trip to a new level of life. Hallelujah, Praise God! You are safe, you no longer suffer the pain you endured here. You are loved and missed by your Brother, Larry Parish, your older sister, Tatta, and your two younger sisters, Dawna Davis and Stacey Gibson. Your nieces and nephews will continue to tell stories of your visits and we’ll smile.
I promise, when this is all over, we’ll take you back to mama. As always, forever and ever.
