Edna Elizabeth Cartwright

Edna Elizabeth Cartwright, age 90, passed away on December 9, 2025. She was born on April 28, 1935, in Vian, Oklahoma, to William Randolph Ballard and Fannie Mae Ballard (Craighead). In September of 1955, she married Claudie Cartwright, and together they built a life rooted in hard work and family.

Edna was a homemaker and a caretaker by both role and nature. She worked hard, kept the farm running, hauled hay when it needed hauling, and did whatever had to be done without complaint. Her work, whether caring for others or tending to home and land was steady, honest, and done with purpose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Randolph Ballard and Fannie Mae Ballard (Craighead); her husband, Claudie Cartwright; her sons, Nelson Cartwright; her daughters, Melinda Cartwright and Elizabeth Cartwright; her brothers, Tuck Ballard and Dempsy Ballard; and her sister, Maxine Young.

Edna is survived by her sons, Arvil Cartwright, Randall Cartwright, and Joe Cartwright; her daughters, Sandra Cartwright and Rita Moore; and her sister, Barbara Houston.

Edna will be remembered for her work ethic, the care she showed others, and the quiet strength she carried through life. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward and hold close the years they shared.
