

Eli Olvera, or “Bubba” as he was known to his family and friends, was born May 28, 1974 in Tahlequah, OK. He was one of four boys to parents, Jose Eloy and Roberta (Swimmer) Olvera. He attended Tahlequah Schools before beginning work with Tri-B Nursery in Tahlequah. He was hardworking and he worked at Sparrow Hawk Mountain and went on to build his own successful lawn care business. Eli took immense pride in his work and always strived to provide the best service for his clients.
Eli’s hobbies were making bows and arrows, blowguns and darts, beadwork and flint-knapping arrowheads. Eli's love for the outdoors was evident when he took his nieces and nephews fishing, and swimming. He enjoyed grilling, joking around and sharing stories with his family and friends.
A true fan of OU Sooners football, Eli could often be found cheering for his team. He also had a love for cruising in his Mustang and attending car races. Eli loved his furry babies Raisin, Sassy, Bailey and Sophie.
On January 27, 2026 at his home in Tahlequah, Eli passed from this life at the age of 51 years old. Rest in peace. You will be greatly missed, but your laughter and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Roberta Olvera, one brother, Alvin Cory Olvera, as well as many cherished aunts and uncles.
He is loving remembered by his wife, Tara Olvera, and niece, Chloe Hooper, both of the home, many nieces and nephews, Dave “Boon”, Lilly, Dayton, Jessica, Alissa and Georgie Olvera, all of Tahlequah, Aaliyah Olvera of Muskogee, and Ashlynn “Fat Cat” Barnoskie, Ashtin Barnoskie and Ashley Poole, also of Tahlequah. He leaves two brothers, Dave Olvera of Tahlequah, OK and Robert Olvera and wife Ashley of Muskogee, OK and one uncle, Frank Swimmer and wife Rhonda of Tahlequah, OK, and Harold” Uncle Bruce” Tyon of Tahlequah, as well as many other friends and loved ones.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10:00am at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Dennis Sixkiller officiating. Eli will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Dave Olvera, Robert Olvera, Dayton Olvera, Aaron Rock, Brad Shade, and Sammy Rooster. Honorary pallbearer is Harold Bruce Tyon.
