

Funeral services for Jerry Paul Girdner will be held on Friday, July 14th, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Ross Wolfe officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13th, 2017 from noon until 6:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Hungry Mountain Cemetery near Stilwell, OK. Pallbearers for Jerry include Pop John Girdner, Marion Girdner, Marc Girdner, Josephus Wisdom, Cody Cole, and Bobby D. Girdner. Honorary pallbearers include Jackie Holloway, Paul Holloway, Herb McGee, Terry Thompson, John Stanley, Tim Johnson, and Danny Brannon.
Jerry Paul Girdner was born on March 22nd, 1947 in Welling, OK, the son of John and Rachel (Cricket) Girdner. He grew up in the Hungry Mountain Community with nine brothers and sisters. He attended school then decided to serve his country during the Vietnam Conflict as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and served honorably for 8 years until he returned home. He met and married the love of his life and his best friend, Brenda Gayle Holloway on March 22nd, 1985 in Fayetteville, AR. Jerry made his living in the construction industry. He worked hard and rewarded himself with horses, he was passionate about them. He also enjoyed raising chickens. Jerry enjoyed watching professional boxing and any chance to share a cup of coffee and a little talk with his many friends. He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them when he had the chance. A Christian by faith, Jerry was a Baptist. His health began to fail him, but that never stopped Jerry from enjoying a beautiful morning. He passed from this life on July 10th, 2017 in Muskogee, OK with his loved ones by his side. Jerry was 70 years old. He leaves a lot of family and friends who will never forget this kind hearted and fun loving man.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, father, a baby sister Rachel, a baby brother Gerald, his eldest brother Harold, his oldest sister Sadie Long and his youngest sister Patty D. Thompson, and one niece, Kendra Dawn Girdner.
Those left to celebrate Jerry’s life include his wife, Brenda of the home, and his great granddaughter, Trinity Blackbird also of the home in Tahlequah. He leaves two sisters, Betty Cole of Tahlequah, Rita Wolf and husband Sampson of Stilwell, and two brothers, Bill John Girdner and wife Lei Lani of Stilwell and Dale Lynn Girdner and wife Mary also of Stilwell. His step children include Mona and Bart Wolf, David Tidwell, Cliff and Regina Tidwell, all of Tahlequah. He also leaves Christina Blevins of Dalles, OR, Jerry Paul Girdner Jr. and wife Tresa of Neosho, MO, Anthony Girdner and wife Jackie Sue of St. Louis, MO, Renia Marlin of Pryor, OK and Leslie Paul Girdner of Claremore. He lives on in his many grandchildren, Labreeska Gray of Tahlequah, Brianna Robbins of Bunch, Kelsey Jo Girdner of Tahlequah, Tesla Hart and Krysta Girdner of Neosho, MO, Jessica Randall and Jaime Marlin of TN, Sara Girdner of St. Louis, MO. Timothy Robbins of Bunch, Jarid and Joshua Girdner of Neosho, MO, James Girdner and Anthony Girdner both of ST. Louis, and Dylan and Dalton Marlin of Pryor, OK. His great grandchildren include Trevor Duncan and Flynn Duncan of Stilwell, OK, and Garrett Marlin of TN and Kyle Randall. He will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
