

Born on March 9th, 1969 in Tahlequah, OK, Jimmy Lavalle McKee was the son of Becky McKey and Richard Canoe. He passed from this life on May 31st, 2025 at his home in Hulbert at the age of 56 years old.
He attended Lost City, Hulbert and Sequoyah Schools. He was the second youngest of five children in the McKee household.
Jimmy started his career with a heating and air company while helping his mom financially, take care of his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Jimmy met his wife, Debora through mutual friends and the couple married in December 2017 in Muskogee. He found his home with his wife in Tulsa, OK and began work with the Hard Rock Casino as a valet and bellman for many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife and going on road trips. They would take trips to go visit his mom and family, the in-laws or simply sightseeing down the country roads. The two both loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting wild onions together, along with family and their family dog, Itsy. Jimmy took great pride tending to his gardens and cooking on the grill for Debora, or any family that was passing through. Anyone that knew Jimmy, knew he was the biggest OU fan in history. Go OU!!! Boomer Sooner!
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debora MeKee, mother, Becky McKey, father, Richard Canoe, grandparents, Josiah Oosahwee and Emma McKee, one brother, Richard Leon McKee and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those left to cherish his memory include one brother, Julian “Hulio” McKee of Tahlequah, OK and two sisters, Dreama McKee Boston of Hulbert, OK and Emma Marisa McKee, both of Hulbert, OK. His legacy lives on through his cherished nieces, Ashla Crawford and husband Jack of Hulbert, OK, Amanda McKee of Tahlequah, OK, Caelen Boston of Tahlequah, OK, Tessa Boston of Hulbert, OK and Autumn Reynolds of Tahlequah, OK, nephews, Joseph Breeden of Hulbert, OK, RJ Boston of Tahlequah, OK and Joshua Reynolds, both of Tahlequah, OK, as well as his great-nieces, Khloe Lamons, Adaya England and Alivia Yeaquo, great-nephews, Ethan Ellis, Darius England and Joshua Lucas and a host of friends and loved ones.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Jimmy are planned for Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 2:00pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Bill Pettit officiating. He will be laid to rest at Swimmer Cemetery in Lost City.
