Jimmy Lynn Stacy was born on August 24,1951 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Elmer Durant and Henrietta Florence (Nottingham) Stacy. He was raised with two brothers and one sister, Dwight, Clint Durant and Beverly. He attended school and then began his working career at NOPFA, initially working as a welder. These people were like family to Jimmy. He was always ready to help and had the biggest smile and the friendliest hello you ever heard. While starting his career, he met and married his best girl and the love of his life, Connie Greenwood on August 24,1971. Together they raised a family of two sons and one daughter, Buddy Carl, Kennith Ray, and Stephanie Jean. He never felt it was necessary to argue with the kids when raising them. They just discussed each situation “loudly” and usually the discussions came out in his favor! Jimmy was Superman to his family, friends and anyone that called upon him for help. He could fix anything, was a welder and later managed the shop at the gas company. He once had a house blow up while working in it. This didn’t deter Jimmy. With his usual sense of humor he soldiered on. Any project the kids had to work on, he was always there with his advice and ideas, helping out in true Dad fashion. Jimmy was dad to foreign exchange students for several years hosting students from Germany and Kazakhstan. He put his talents to use every year building toys for the Santa’s Workshop, along with his son Buddy. The toys were then donated to underprivileged children around the area. His hobbies were many and varied. His spare time was used for hunting, fishing, incubating eggs, and raising his birds. He loved raising pigeons and chickens. His family was his favorite interest of all time, and his 13 grandchildren all knew that they were “His” favorite grandchild of the bunch! He loved time spent with his family on weekends and holidays or any chance to be with his family. Jimmy was a charter member of the BPOE of Tahlequah. Jimmy was a Christian that believed in serving the Lord, and faithfully did this at the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah. He worked in the kitchen, did any odd job that required doing, and never missed a chance to go the extra mile whenever needed. Jimmy was the loyal friend, quick to give counsel when asked, always showing respect for the other persons feelings and always with a sense of humor and that great smile. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from all his labors on January 3rd, 2022, in Tahlequah, OK with those he loved at his side. He was 70 years old. The world has been a better place because Jimmy was here with us.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother and father.
