Jonathan "Red Corn" Michael Buchanan

Funeral services for Jonathan Michael “Red Corn” Buchanan will be held on Friday, July 27th, 2018 at 1:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor DJ McCarter officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his mother, Bobbi Jean (Moore) Smith at Phillips cemetery in Park Hill, OK. Online condolences for his family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Pallbearers for Jonathan include Stacey Thompson, Marcus Thompson, Teddy Thompson, BJ Ramirez, Ridge Russell, and David Barnoskie.

Jonathan was born on May 17th, 1985, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of David Lee and Bobbi Jean (Moore) Buchanan. He grew up with one brother, Jimmy Don Harlow and one sister, Leigh Leann Buchanan, attended school then decided to work as a landscaper, he loved being outdoors. He was always ready to go do a little fishing at his favorite spot or perhaps a day spent hunting, especially deer. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage, and showed his pride with his Native Arts and Crafts and tattoo. Always the rebel, he had his own style, his personality and ways of expressing himself. He was kind and loving, and was happiest seeing those around him smile. He treasured his family, and any chance he had to spend time with his daughter Natalie was always a good day to Jonathan. When ever time permitted, he enjoyed family gatherings and holidays with those he loved. Jonathan passed far too soon on July 14th, 2018 in New Orleans, LA, he was 33 years old. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his mother Bobbi Jean Moore-Smith, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, David lee Buchanan of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves his brother and sister, Jimmy Dawn Harlow of Tahlequah, OK and Leigh Leann Buchanan and companion Erich Ladanyi of Noel, MO. He lives on in his daughter, Natalie Lynn Buchanan of Arkansas, as well as his Aunt Barbara Ann of Tahlequah, and his niece, Shakoda Jean Brittain, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
