

Kyle Harlan Hair, age 40, passed away peacefully April 29, 2026, in Portland Oregon. Though he was far from home, he was surrounded by compassionate caregivers who remained by his side until the end. He was born on June 21, 1985, at W.W. Hastings hospital in Tahlequah Oklahoma. He was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Kyle spent his childhood in Tahlequah with his family enjoying swimming in the many creeks and rivers, playing outside with his siblings. The family relocated to the Oklahoma City area when Kyle was a teenager where he made many friends. In his young adulthood he traveled around the United States before settling in Portland, where he met his partner Janet and they spent 7 years together before she passed from a long illness.
Kyle was known for his deep sense of humor, his infectious laughter, his fierce loyalty to those he loved, as well as his deep love of music — especially heavy metal and rap. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching movies, and gaming on his PlayStation. Kyle was a sports fan and enjoyed watching Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma City Thunder play. Kyle was a devout Christian and carried his faith with him throughout his life.
Kyle was preceded in death by his grandfather Jim Fields Hair whom he dubbed Papa and shared a special bond. His grandmother Patricia Ann Carter and stepfather Clyde Anderson Lowrey.
He is survived by his loving mother Ramona Hair of Yukon Oklahoma. His stepfather Jack Hammon of Mustang, Oklahoma, his grandmother Mary Frances Pedro of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, brothers Kristopher Lowrey of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, James Hammon of Booneville Arkansas, and Christopher Bakke of Yukon, Oklahoma. His sister Kayla Hammon and brother-in-law Dylan James of Yukon, Oklahoma. Uncle and Aunt Josiah and Valarie Hair of Norman Oklahoma, Uncle Michael Hair of Denver, Colorado and Uncle Jason Hair of Yukon, Oklahoma, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Kyle will be remembered for the laughter he brought, the love he gave, and the strength of spirit he carried through life.
Graveside Memorial Services for Kyle will be held on June 8, 2026 at 2:00pm at Swimmer Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Hammon, Kristopher Lowrey, James Hammon, and Christopher Bakke.
