Loretta Ruth Smith Elliott

Catoosa, OK- The family of Loretta Ruth (Smith) Elliott: 8/14/1940-1/30/2017

announcing the passing of their beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Loretta, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothea Smith, graduated from Raytown High

School,in Raytown, MO. She was the proud mother of three children, Rick Elliott, Debbi

(Elliott) Joiner and Rhonda (Elliott) Phillips. In the mid 70’s she decided to make a fresh

start, so she packed up her two daughters and moved from Kansas City to Phoenix,

living there from 1975 until 2005. She was a Data Processor and worked for temp

companies mainly out of Phoenix, AZ. She returned to the Kansas City area in 2005, to

be closer to her family. Loretta moved to Catoosa, Ok. in 2015 to be near her son. She

attended Church On The Move in Tulsa with Rick & Tracy. She truly enjoyed COTM

services and the Praise & Worship. She attained the age of 76 years, 5 months and 16

days. She will be greatly missed.

Loretta is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothea, her father, Joseph, and her

brother, Cary Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Rick & Tracy Elliott of Tulsa, OK,

and two daughters, Debbie & Kelly Joiner of Garden City, MO & Rhonda & Joe Phillips

of Phoenix, AZ. Loretta lives on in her four grandchildren, Amanda Grimsley (husband

Josh) of Adrian, MO, Brandon Joiner (wife Jesi) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Colby Joiner

(wife Holly) of Kansas City, MO, and Tausha Bowers (husband Kyle) of Glendale, AZ.

Her ten great grandchildren include, Josie Grimsley, Levi Grimsley, Maycee Grimsley,

Rylee Grimsley, Adelyn Joiner, Camden Joiner, Drake Bowers, Logan Bowers, Mylee

Joiner, and Logynn Joiner, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of

friends and loved ones. She leaves three sisters, Judy Lawrence of Kansas, City, Mo.,

Valerie Rock of Gladstone, Mo, & Yvonne and Dean White of Lewisville, Tx.

Loretta had requested private family services only, and these will be held at a later

date.
