Mark Daryl Enkey, or “Spur” to his family and friends, was born on July 22nd, 1987 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Brigham Elias and Carol Marie (Walker) Enkey. He grew up and attended school in the Keys Schools. While still a young man, he showed a lot of promise with roping and rodeos. He was a dare devil, and would break in and train horses that no one else would. Upon graduating, he began his career as a truck driver, and put the miles behind him. He liked to tinker with anything mechanical, and welding was almost as much fun. He met a beautiful young barrel racer named Amysha Trammell, and the chemistry was instantaneous! They were wed on October 9th, 2022 at the Checotah Rodeo Arena. Amysha was known as “Boots” and Mark was known as “Spur”, so together, they became Boots and Spur, and set up housekeeping on the YME Ranch. They toured Wyoming together, went horseback riding, visited Mount Rushmore and watched the waves at the ocean. He was her biggest supporter, the love of her life and her constant help. He liked a quiet evening of watching movies like “Man from Snowy River” and Tombstone”. He liked thing clean and tidy and power washed anything and everything. Mark possessed a wonderful sense of humor, had an ornery streak, and loved his family and friends with his whole heart. Every morning when he got up, he put on his favorite jeans and pearl snap western shirt and started the day’s activities. His ranching days ended on May 23rd, 2023 in Oklahoma City, with those he cherished by his side. He was 35 years old and will never be forgotten.
Those left to remember Spur is his loving wife, Amysha Enkey of the home, his parents, Brigham Elias and Carol Marie Enkey along with his two brothers, Corin Elias Enkey and wife Rebecca of Peggs, OK and Robert Earl Enkey and wife Kandle as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
The family will hold a Celebration of Spur’s Life at a later date. Those wishing to send condolences to the family may do so at www.reedculver.com
